Creating highly functional and visually pleasing digital products and content.

About me

Hello there.
I’m Alex Darbyshire - AKCD - a London-based product designer with over 20 years of digital experience across a wide range of disciplines and sectors, working at agencies, in-house and startups.

My pathway to product design started with a degree in graphic design, and a fascination with the psychologies and principals of user experience. Over the years I've built up additional skills in creative production, animation, video editing and some front-end coding. Whatever hat I'm wearing, my goal is to create highly functional and visually pleasing digital products and content that understand and serve the needs of the user, and fulfil business requirements.

I live in Walthamstow with my graphic designer wife, 2 creative young daughters, and Bonbon the cat.

I'm a big fan of Peanuts (the Schultz type; I've a cashew preference for eating), and the colour orange.

Outside of work and family life I can be found running, watching and playing sports, cooking, going to gigs, reading and buying books.
In addition to my creative skills, I consider myself to be reliable, loyal, approachable, patient, and a great team player.

A big nod and a wink to Gerard Huerta for my respectful re-appropriation of his iconic AC/DC logo, created in 1977 and first appearing on the group's fourth album Let There Be Rock.
